The Institute
The Institute of Meetings and Non-Meetings is a platform for experimenting with and examining the capacity or incapacity of art to intervene in the operations of society.
The Institute of Meetings and Non-Meetings is a studio and laboratory, research station and experimental ground, rehearsal space and investigative journalism editorial office. It is an expedition to the dark side of the moon and into the core of everyday moments.
The Institute of Meetings and Non-Meetings is a non-profit organisation established by two artists, Jan Teevet and Oliver Issak, intended for the continuation of their collective creative activity and for soliciting support from entities possessing the financial means and the willingness or obligation to distribute it. Yet, it also serves as a communal platform for the individual practices of various artists, a space in which new realities unfold through mutual support, inspiration, and challenges. From the confluence of different languages, methodologies, materials, and techniques, arise possibilities that are nearly inconceivable today.
The Institute of Meetings and Non-Meetings is an organism that expands through sharing and acceptance, a network that grows by way of exchanging knowledge and experience.
At the heart of the activities of the Institute of Meetings and Non-Meetings is not the creation of actual or virtual environments, but rather the cultivation of potential realms.
